ברחנו משם, בוכיות ועצובות, ונכנסנו הביתה. ידעתי שזה לא יהיה רעיון טוב לצאת החוצה היום, יכולנו להיות רק שתינו. ג'ני מאוכזבת ודחויה, היא מתיישבת על הספה , מחבקת את ברכיה ומתחילה להתנדנד קדימה אחורה. היא לא מבינה מדוע הילדים האחרים שונאים אותה.

לא רציתי לעבור לבית ההוא. הייתה לי הרגשה רעה. כמו חלום שפעם חלמתי או אולי הייתה זו תחושה מנבאת רעות. כך או כך, לא רציתי לעבור לבית ההוא. אבל מתווך הדירות שהחברה שכרה בשבילי, כבר החל להראות סימני חוסר סבלנות.
