Me Against The World

I ain't that much differant then anyone
and these times they just seem so hard
to get by all by myself, and I do try

going through all the red tape
all the rules we put up to bind our steps
and I've gone through school and college
just to be graded as a human being

It's just me up against the world
and so everything's as it should be
but only one thing's gone astray and it made me lose my way
Because it should've been you and me

and we've been through all the tests,
go to schools and do our very best
so one day we could be accepted to yet another school
I feel like such a fool

a grading system for ourselves,
this one's better, M.A beats B.A these days
and if those who can do and those who can't teach
then who am I learning from?



So eventually it all makes sense,
I've got a good job all based on my grades
and I'm making a descent pay and the master plan says
marriege should be next

and so I've finally made it through
and I've been through most of it with you
and I'm ready to propose but you've dropped out of your
course
and found someone new


It's just me up against the world

but the system made me scared and i lost track of what I
said
