/ A Dark-Eyes Girl

Her laugh made him smile. He liked the way her eyes
glittered in the sun, giving them a bright hint of green.
He'd always found her amazing, but every time she laughed it
thrilled him all over again. He liked her laugh. He liked
the feeling of the buzz she gave him every time she smiled
at him. He liked her.
She looked at him and smiled again. There was something in
his bright eyes that moment that made her smile again and
again. Maybe, she realised -- maybe after all, he was more
than lovely like she'd always reckoned he was. That moment
made her question what she was feeling about him. Really
feeling. It was always something different when the two of
them were alone but together. With him she knew she felt
young. So young. So carefree, so happy. She could laugh
that moment even if he said the silliest thing... she wanted
to feel that way forever.
That moment could have lasted forever if she hadn't stopped
laughing. She could have laughed for hours if she hadn't
seen another pair of eyes watching them, watching her. Like
a scared deer who's been caught her smile faded within a
brief second... that moment she realised she'd done
something wrong. She shouldn't have laughed with him, she
shouldn't have looked at him in the eye... she should have
known it was coming.
That moment ended as fast as it started. The next thing she
knew was a pair of gentle, dark eyes watching her out of the
blue. He was jealous. She knew he was, he probably knew it
too. There was no questioning his feeling for her, and with
that look she knew there was no need to question who was the
one she actually loved. As soon as her moment with those
bright eyes passed she realised she belonged to the dark
ones. It took her less than a second to freeze in her place,
to look into the dark eyes and say how sorry she was. How
she wished she could have had moments like that with the
other eyes, to feel young, to feel carefree and ever so
happy again. Why couldn't she feel the same way with him?
The bright eyes smiled again and she looked away from the
dark ones. No need to pretend. She regretted that moment
for a second, she wished it never happened. She shouldn't
have let her fool him... she belonged to the other one. She
was a dark-eyes girl after all.
