Where shall I go, oh great traveler
Where shall I go?
To the desert, fair lady,
Where it's hot and dry and a person can die of thirst?
To the sea, handsome man,
Where you might drown or get seasick to death?
Where shall I go, oh captain of all guards
Where shall I go?
Fight the Romans, mighty General
Where if you lose you might be a Lion's food and play?
Fight the Greeks, good nurse in battle
Where those Spartans might eat you up alive?
Where shall I go, great president of nations,
Where shall I go?
Shall I make peace, dear leader
And live in harmony with those whom I hate more than death
itself?
Shall I go to war, dearest warrior
Where all my sons could be burned in the heat of battle?
Where shall I go, great man of all religions
Where shall I go?
Shall I become Christian, dear priest
And hate the Jews because of blaming them for killing he who
brought me light?
Shall I become Moslem, good Sheik
And hate the Jews for they are in lands which I mistake for
being mine?
Where shall I go, oh great Father of my world
Where shall I go?
Shall I do things you'd approve of, Father of all Mercies
And you shall bless me, if you are there?
Shall I do things which you call sins, God of faith and
belief
And you shall vanquish me, if you are there?
If you are there
How come some still don't know where they shall go?
And if you aren't there
How come so many succeed?
Where shall I go?
If you are really there, where shall I go??? |
