/ The Dark Warrior

It was a night like any other when he suddenly appeared
He was black like death in winter and when I saw him I
feared
He was standing there in silence with his red and bloody
eyes
Men and women jumped with horror as he caught them by
surprise

He had served the Prince of Darkness and his mighty evil
throne
If you looked into his eyes, at once you would've turned to
stone
He was carrying both a crossbow and a mighty fearsome
spear
And as our questions rose above us he just choked them with
our fear

He had armor hard like steel, which had been made to use in
war
You could guess the number of his death kept growing more
and more
He could shatter twenty helmets with his blackened sharp
long sward
We could never like such blackness, but the quiet we
adored

For he never said a single word to no soul in the world
He just chose to forget speech and prove the power of one
word
He just stood there black and fearsome every night and
every
day
Allowing us to go mad with the question "who's the prey?!"

As he stood there black and mighty we began to feel afraid
We did not know if he'd feed on some master or some maid
So we calculated options and salvation, but we knew
We had come to a conclusion that there's nothing we could

So we hoped the twenty bandits will destroy him with their
swards
As they charged him under moonlight screaming "Kill him,
men! Onwards!"
But the force of night was greater than the simple skill of
theft
Morning came and twenty bodies were the one thing that was
left

Than we thought of bears and lions living deep inside the
wood
And we knew they would destroy him, when they're hungry if
they could
So they ran here roaring and hungry to fight him under sky
By morning we all knew that they only had come here to die

Maybe mercenary murderers can kill this threatening thing
Maybe demons from beneath us, those who call the Devil
king
But no matter what we thought of it had ended in a grave
And the dark man kept on fighting till all evil was his
slave

One day just like any others as the peace ruled all our
town
Came a little son of potter and presented him a crown
"Thank you, Dark Man!" said the boy "For giving us this
blessed change!
Everything that's wrong or evil you have vanquished in your
rage!"

Finally we understood that the Dark Man wanted no prey
All he wanted was to help us and protect us every day
Enemies and brutal threats he always managed to destroy
Yet even now he kept his blackness and never gave a sign of
joy
