S was a child when she met G , he had a funny name, as you
may notice.
Just one letter, and not a very good one at all, but he made
up for it with his smile, and his charm.
She gave him a present, a big red apple and tried to forget
just how hungry she was.
He thanked her but remembered he liked his apples green, and
small, and with much less meaning. He could not eat this
apple, not for a long time, perhaps at her funeral, he would
recall it and go buy one just like it at the market filled
with apples, not only apples, but memories of little
children in love.
G remembered the first time he saw S, in the street, on the
sidewalk, looking so charming, in her almost clothes. He saw
her through the cracks between the fingers of the man
infront of him, who was speaking too loud, it made him feel
faint. This man had his hand up, for some unimportant
reason, and his fingers where spread apart, that's when he
saw S, between the thumb and the fore finger she sat. no
smile on her face, but still not happy.
Maybe the encounter was short, yes, he only saw her once,
but she was one to see once and that is all one needs.
Unforgettable S, forgotten among the streets, gave up her
only apple, for G, the man with the smile.
Until this day he will walk down that street, and remember
the beautiful S, and maybe someday he will go to the market
and buy a little green apple for her.
