Jya sought the stars in the bottom of a well
A moonless night of blackened stone and dripping cold.
She took her heart with her
A frail candle in the dark.
She sought the stars beyond the veil.
But the veil and stone were one,
And the cold was deeper etched.
It takes more than just one heart,
More than one a caring flame.
Jya sought the sun in the corner of a wall
A jagged mess of rock that allowed no life to cling.
She took her patience with her
Drops of water, ever soft.
She sought the sun behind the coil.
Came a time when cracks appeared
In the mess of jagged rock.
Came a time when warmth escaped
Through the blackened stone and cold.
Came a time, but that's much later,
She found sparkles in his eyes.
Came a time (they came together)
He reflected all her smiles.
Jya sought the stars in the bottom of a well
.And the sun, in the corner of a wall |
