Once upon a time, in a place far far away, lived a young
man. The man worked in a job that paid him well. His house
was filled from wall to wall with expensive statues and
pictures. His potbelly was filled with the best of
delicatessen and wine. Though he felt that something was
missing in his life, a void that had to be filled.
So the man decided to go to "The know-all", the man who had
an answer to every question.
-"Good day sir!" the man said with a smile.
-"Good day it is. How may I help you?" asked "The know all"
-"My problem is as follows: I have money, I have good food,
but I still feel that something is missing. Tell me please,
what can I do to get rid of this feeling?"
"The know all" thought for a short while and then said,
-"No problem, you are obviously lacking a bit of love,
tranquility and bliss. Take this and come back within a
week."
"The know all" took out a map. He marked a track the man
would have to go through, and when he would reach the end of
the track he would find what he is looking for.
"Thank you! Thank you!" said the man happily.
The next day he spent wondering what should he take with him
on his journey.
Eventually he took a backpack and filled it with food,
water, the map and a number of things he though might come
in handy.
Finely the journey began. He looked over his shoulder and
saw his house from afar.
The man was walking rapidly, almost running, for he was
seeking love, tranquility and bliss.
After a few hours he heard a young woman calling him.
-"Excuse me! Excuse me!" the woman waved her hands at him.
She was extremely beautiful, her eyes like the sea, her dark
black hair slide on her shoulders and her voice soft as a
feather, almost caressing him.
The woman continued.
-"This place is desolate, it's very rare that people come
here. Would you like to come and stay with me? I know it's
no castle, but it's a home and there is every thing we need
here, food, water and the most amazing view."
-"I'm sorry but I have only a week! Love, tranquility and
bliss I seek!" the man shouted back without stopping. He
carried on, stopping only for a little snack now and then
and to sleep at nights.
After a few days the man saw an old man with a long beard
and a walking cane.
-"Young man," he said weakly, "I am very old now, and my
wish is to be buried on my land. It's not far from here, and
if you'll help me to get there I will give you my house.
It's very peaceful there, and you can see the sea from the
balcony. It will all be yours, just help me fulfill my last
wish."
-" I'm sorry" the man said, "but I have only a week! Love,
tranquility and bliss I seek!" and kept on walking.
A few more days past. The man kept on walking. Suddenly a
female figure caught his sight.
-"Hello there!" the woman said, "Can you help me please? I
am kindergarten teacher, and I love my children, but I have
to go away for some time. You see, my mother is ill and I
must take care of her. Would you be kind enough to replace
me for just a little while?" the woman begged.
The man had a big fondness for little children. He loved to
play with them and make them laugh.
-"I truly do love children, but I'm sorry, I have only a
week! Love, tranquility and bliss I seek!"
And so, the man kept on walking happily not far from his
destination, knowing he is not far from all he is looking
for. The man pondered what would his love look like, and
where will he get his tranquility from, and what form will
his bliss take. As he was pondering back and forth he
reached his destination.
But aside of miles of sand the only thing that was there was
a sign that said:
"Your arrival here is a sign that ignorance is not always
bliss!" |
