Entire cities rise and fall
But no one here is getting wiser
And though I'm wise enough to see the whole
If this city goes, then I won't go along
It's been too long to still be feeling any guilt
Yet it's too early for forgiveness
And mercy has been late in coming this year
But as I grow I need it less and less
Cause after all I am too young
To be sitting here, drinking, on my own
And even after all that has been said and done
There's hope enough
That I won't die alone
It's too easy to say that everything is wrong
Sometimes you have to work to find beauty |
