The Star-Gazer
A poem about physics. Yes, I know I'm weird.
In front of my eyes
inconsistent and blinking
infinity lies
and within it I'm sinking.
The planets so far
that their light isn't seen
tell me strange stories
of what they might mean.
Ancient light rays
have home to earth
and from their long way
they rest, and give birth -
to knowledge. Equations
of beauty and might
will form from the sights
that I see here tonight.
How long will it take
us all to understand
the beauty we see
but cannot comprehend?
The dawn will come soon
and the light of the stars
will no longer shine,
so increadibly far... |
