She is young and beautiful
Content and happy with her small life

They look at her and see the quiet young girl who never
complains
She is so calm; the horrors of the world can't touch her

As she sits alone in the middle of a crowded garden she
smiles to herself
Yet behind the smile there is a frightened little girl
Stirring inside, her soul is crying for help
And yet she is smiling
And only if you look deep into her eyes you can see how
empty she is
But nobody really looks
A few of her friends approach
They laugh, she's laughing too
But her soul is still crying

She is young and beautiful
And her life goes on happily
Or so it seems to everyone else
They look at her and see a bright future awaiting this
promising girl
She is so peaceful; sadness doesn't seem to ever come over
her lovely face
Or so it seems to everyone else
As she sits in the middle of a classroom, she is laughing at
jokes with her friends
Yet underneath the laughter there is a frightened little
girl
Dying inside, her soul is crying in pain
And yet she is laughing
And only if you look deep into her eyes you can see how
hollow she is
But nobody really looks
She goes home where she can be her true self
Not just feeling lonely surrounded by people
But really alone in an empty bedroom
She can cry now just like her soul is crying all the time

She falls asleep thinking of everything
Tomorrow will be a new day
And she will smile like always
And she will be laughing like always
She will look happy, like always
And her soul will be dying
Like always
