PIPER
When he was yet apprenticed
His master said to him
As you follow the path of the Yellow Rose
Look for a Piper`s footprint.
Now the trail may seem misleading
For a Piper`s a tricky thing
They dodge and skip the moonlight beams
So get your rod and string
And beware its poisonous sting
For a Piper can kill with a song.
So he followed the way of the Master
And the path of the Yellow Rose
But never in his wanderings
Did he hear a Piper`s note.
Till he came upon a gathering
In a city of gloom and despair,
And he was all alone
Except for a handful of friends,
All alone, and a handful of friends.
It was there that he saw a Piper
Dying beside a stone
So he wove a circle around her
Spoke to her in his tongue
He put a mark upon her
Bade her stand up straight
To sing and dance the whole night long
As the seasons rolled their wake
For a Piper can live in a song.
