A little boy sits down and asks himself
"Have I read this book, that's on the shelf?"
He quickly turns in ignorance
Of the one true cause it needs to serve.
A descendant to a people not different from him
That just can't see it all as a part of the scheme;
Cutting down the one branch they are all sitting on,
They will all fall into future which is darker and grim.
For they can't hear a human pleading one thousand pleas,
Nor another like him trying to ask, "Please!"
That future is darker than seems to appear;
It must be redirected, before this land bleeds.
Just one small nation
On the edge of damnation,
The only thing they need to hear
Is the call of salvation.
You don't know how and you don't know why
The only thing you've ever known is to sit down and cry;
Things must be changed, revised and rebuilt -
Or the next generation will be born just to die.
Let the fire burn, let the water rebirth,
Up high winds will blow and new life will walk the earth;
Don't live to remember, remember to live
Before all hope is lost, read that book on the shelf.
Just one small nation
On the edge of damnation,
The only thing they need to hear
Is the call of salvation. |
