Crawling, Falling down...
stuck in this same old town,
where eternity bares our burdens
and our own soul's miseries know no ends
I know you, just as you know me
we all know the pain, the tragedy
crying in our little futile attempts
lying in our cells, by our own sentence
we looked the truth in its eyes
seeing what everyone else denies
we scratched till it bled
we screamed as it fed
our lakes of crimson red
so warm and deep, bearing our unsaid,
I know what you know, I see what you see
yet I'll never know the point, I'll never be set free
and when I search for the blinding light, all I see...
blackness, death, and eternal grief... till sanity begins to
flee
and I laugh at you all, because it's all a joke
and I cry for you all, at the truth's unspoken
and I wonder why, mercy could be....
this merciless thing....that's all I see...
and we are the foresaken, and we are the blessed
and we will forever, eternally bare our crest
a broken crown of thorns, and the throne of a fool
sitting alone, looking upon an empty kingdom to rule
and I smile for you brothers, cause I know as you do
and I'm everything but nothing, just as are you
and as I bleed, and as it feeds, I sit here among black
clouds
and I look into the water's reflection, and it shrouds
my bloodied wings, bearing this mark ever more... to
forever morn
forever foresaken, by our very own lord... and we are...
forever torn. |
