Silmarillion'
If only I had known what your tenderness would cause.
Like a son you were to my father -
I gave up everything for you, "brother".
For you I set out against everything I believe in.
For you I've done things I cannot forgive myself for.
So pure. So innocent. And yet most harmful.
Everybody loved you. And everybody hated you.
I loved you.
I'm not sure if I still do.
But when I look at you now, my heart still struggles.
You will never be forgotten.
Because of you, I will never be forgotten.
Thanks to you, I have no home left.
None shall I meet, until I'll be able to forgive myself.
But I won't.
Ever.
Not after what I've done in order to protect you.
So many years. So many faces.
And for what?
Now that you're finally safe, I wish you hadn't been.
Without any doubt I'd turn back the wheel.
If only I could undo those awful words,
Which led me to my doom.
And for what?
For you?
Such a long time I have longed to see you again,
But the time we spent now together is much more than
enough.
Goodbye, "Brother,"
You are condemned to the same fate as myself:
Loneliness. Till the world ages.
And your only friends would be the shattering waves.
