(in memory of Ahuva hi hi)
We used to walk together
Calculating our karma
On the the beads of the day
As they slipped off Arunachala.
We wondered how many lives
More until we would hitch hike
Our way out of Samsara.
You found me the little blue house
To live in the night before pongal
Than told me I would find you
By listening to my heart.
It was not my heart
But your laughter,
Rippling through time
cows and the little dirt road in
Tiruvanamallai.
Every time I was lost
You laughed me back
Into the universe
Offering cookies or advice
Or just the gentle love
That rocks the planet.
We used to walk together
Calculating our karma
And what brought us here to tiru
To the threshold of our own heart.
I still hear your laughter
And your longing to end the war
That you said was only caused
By people who took themselves so
Seriously, they could laugh no more.
So you hitchhiked your way
Out of Samsara
How the world must
Have kisses you good bye
On your last breath
Of this precious human life. |
