A cow was searching for a proof
Of something mathematic
She took a walk on reason's roof
That covers dreaming's attic
And as she walked upon the roof
Her mind in symbols sinking
She heard a loud and sudden "Woof!"
This slew her line of thinking
Now, other than the random bird
The roof was always quiet
(There was the time she thought she heard
It urge her on a diet)
But here was something that the roof
Had never ever told her!
She gave her angry answer "Oooff!"
And looked behind her shoulder
The noisemaker, a dog as such,
Was sitting there and panting
The cow could not breathe half as much
Before he started ranting
"I had a special friend", he said
"My thoughts and dreams she masters
But one cannot avoid the dread
Of unexplained disasters
Two months ago she vanished poof!
With nothing but her fleas on
And so I thought that on this roof
I'll find her within reason...''
The cow, her proof forever gone,
Had all this time been harking
And waiting (not without a yawn)
Until he finished barking
"Your loss is great indeed, it seems,
But don't be so dogmatic -
If as you say she fills your dreams
You'll find her in the attic." |
