The creation of the looking glass
From dust and sand and hurt and pain
Took seven nights and seven days
The worst of the hobgoblin kings
Attached it grain to grain
He looked upon it with the greatest awe
And respect for his creation
With love, he saw the world reflected
The worst of the hobgoblin kings
Mesmerized to his reflection
So beautiful, the world was then to him
Every stain, and hurt, and pain
Were plain to see as bright daylight
The worst of the hobgoblin kings
Saw the world for all its bane
Then up he flew with it to heaven
To see the angels through the pane
But the looking glass then slipped
The worst of the hobgoblin kings
Dropped the mirror from his hand
The shards then spread across the earth
Causing mischief where they went
They entered people's eyes and hearts
And the worst of the hobgoblin kings
Was full of gladness and content |
