When I lie on my back in my bed
And I stare at the stars overhead,
My thoughts always race
Right back to the same place,
To my loved one's embrace,
To her hair on my face,
To the touch of her skin,
To her glorious grin,
And to the way her pretty eyes
Just made me soar into the skies,
But now that she had left my room
There's naught to chase away the gloom...

When I sit in my room in my chair
And I draw in the cool fragrant air
How I endlessly yearn
For those things to return
And to light up once more
My life's old routine bore,
It appears that my mind
Just won't leave it behind,
I just wish to once more
Walk with her on the shore
In the sunset's warm light,
Or to dance through the night
While we wait for the sun to arise,
And look into her beautiful eyes
When I speak of my undying love
As the stars shine upon us from above...

The time we had went by so fast
And now lies buried in the past,
But the future can't be told,
Destiny will yet unfold,
Though it will be a surprise
To look again into her eyes,
I will never cease to wait,
Because I know that it's my fate
To hold her in my arms again,
To once more feel whole and sane,
And then when I will lie on my bed,
I will look into her eyes instead,
But I'll know that the stars are still there,
Looking down at us both, me and her,
And they'll shine like no stars ever shone,
And their light will be ours alone.
