Can it be? My sadness appears out of nowhere
Although it surely is beautiful up here
It's so simple to straighten up and look lower
To watch the seasons on planet earth melt into a year
Here I watch all that lovely ugliness right down below,
I observe the beauty in the horrors of the superior human
race,
I stare into the blasts of power in the fires and the snow,
I look forward to witness how they'll sweep off any vivid
trace
Up here in the space, on the ladder on the moon
I scream joyfully and rejoice and nobody hears
Such a pleasure to see how the evil falls into its doom
Such a torture to be above it all and wish my love was here
But on the ladder on the moon I should stay on my own
To watch the extinction of those who have sinned
To mourn for those who had no excuse to be gone
And to hope for your soul, my love, to be carried up to me
with the wind.
