When I was red, they took my land

When I was an animal, they took my skin
When I was a woman, they took my freedom
When I was poor, they took my house
When I tried to fight, they took my life

So why do I keep living by their rules?
Why can't I stand up for myself?
Cause it's already too late
I'm locked in a cage 10 miles under the water
Can't escape from the claws of the worst monster

When I was an alien, they took my body
When I tried to be friendly, they ignored the truth
When I fell down, they danced on my back
When I dared smiling, they sealed my lips
