"please mister, be my knight". said the girl, looking at me
with her big blue eyes. I gave a tired, but relaxed look at
her and ran my fingers though her shiny curls. though, the
pain in my shoulder was still there, hot and sick, and when
I rose my arm to hold her little hand, a sharper shadow
took over my sanity for a second or two. I failed to the
floor, not making a sound, only a silent pain and a worm
tear.
"Mister, are you alright?" the pure creature asked with a
sound of worriness in her gentle voice with beautiful lips,
beautiful like the happiness I have never knew and those
blue eyes buried with fear and soft comfort, she was asking
me questions that made my heart drown with my own tears and
grief, why, she asked me as if I could answer her. Why are
you leaving me here? and what if the place where you go to
will be cold and grey? what if the sun won't shine every
morning and worm all the smiling lips? and what if the
flowers won't smell from honey and sweetness? the clouds
will become darker. In a place like this there will be no
princesses at the top of the tower, waiting to be rescued.
there will be no king, waiting for his victorious son,
coming back from the war of peace.
What if? what will you do then?
I sigh. her words are bringing a little of the color of
life to my face, sigh and answer: "No fear my child, the
angels are waiting, they will take of me at the city of
clouds and the blue bright sky".
I feel the blood spread around me, like fire, dancing
slowly, burning the flesh, taking my breath away. the blood
is so thirsty and dangerous but also gentle and beautiful.
I give a last look at her and I see a blessed smile on
those little lips, her eyes calmed down. The color is back
to her face, to her angel like face, not pale and concerned
anymore.
she opens her mouth and her cheeks are blushing. I take a
deep sip from the river of breaths to listen to the
innocent
thing for the last time.
"well then, I hope to see you one day at this wonderful
place, my eternal knight". |
