The essence of rhyming is that it makes you feel
In charge, like a king on his horse,
Yet it is so restrictive that nobody else
Could clean up the mess... it is yours.
The essence of rhyming is to say what you feel,
To spell out those feelings of yours.
Once you write it, you find that those feelings have
changed
And you're doomed to instant remorse.
The essence of rhyming is always pure crap
(unless it is borrowed, of course)
But it comes from a place where there's too much of it
So you write it and shove it up yours. |
