Once upon a time, there was a flower.
A tiny flower. Which had managed to blossom against all
odds. Though it grew in rough ground, with almost no water -
it eventually became the most beautiful flower in the whole
country. It was a unique flower. One of a kind.
It was also the strongest flower of all, and even though
many people had trodden over it - it had always managed to
grow back - stronger than ever.
It became more and more beautiful with the passing seasons
and maybe, few people saw that beauty and paid attention
while they walked, so that they won't step on it by
accident. But most of them, for various reasons - still did.
For they never really cared for the flower, and didn't even
water it on dry seasons.
But it was a strong flower. So it lived, and it didn't even
hate the people for their lack of humanity.
And the people - they started ignoring the flower even more.
It was, after all, just a flower.
Although it was more than once pushed to the ground, the
flower had always risen. prettier than ever. Over and Over
again.
It was all until that day, when the heaviest person had
walked across its' home field. The flower, still bearing the
marks which the shoes of the people had left on it - forgot
to bend, or fall aside as it noticed the man coming towards
it. The man just kept on walking, and did not notice the
flower as he stepped on it (and maybe he let a cigarette
fall there too).
Suddenly, he remembered the reason he had came there in the
first place. He wanted to pick the most beautiful flower for
his wife. He turned back, and searched the field for the
flower that was known all over the country not only for its'
remarkable beauty, but also for its' height - but he
couldn't find it anywhere.
For a moment, it seemed to him like he had just seen it
while walking to where he had been standing now. He then
imagined, that for a split second, he saw a glimpse of the
magnificent flower which he had wanted so much.
So he started back-tracking. He then saw the flower - so
tiny and lifeless - and finally realized how important it
has really been for him all this time.
