Of the creation of the forces and of Baar

In the beginning it was dark, there was void. There was none
and time flowed freely throughout the void.
From the void rose the spirit, the one, whose real name is
unknown to all but few, and is known through Baar as Samaa.

Samaa walked through the void, and the vastness endured his
pace. Ages passed, and for a while, he was content.
In his coming, time had cowered before his foot-falls and
became a mattress for him to tread upon, as a straight line,
it would go before him and linger for a while after his
stead.
At the turn of three ages, Samaa was distraught, he had
grown weary of the void, and tired of his musings. And he
longed for the filling of the void with voices. And he let
forth a great moan, and the void stirred.
From the far end of it, out of the turbulence of his moan,
emerged two forces opposite one another, and he knew that
they were of his making and for his amusement.
One was shrouded in darkness and therefore he named him
Chiram  for he was the spirit of un-light and darkness was
light to him. His presence was shrouded in mists and none
but Samaa could see his true form, the terror of which he
revealed but thrice ere the end of the days.
And in his eyes was the end of everything, the thirst for
consummation of all, and he began to devour the void.
But from the opposite rose an orb of light, its radiance
stunning and awe inspiring. With brilliance it contested the
un-light, feeding it for a while, stopping, defiantly and
then pummeling it with force. And Samaa called the light
Hafas for it meant the opposite, as Hafas was the opposite
of Chiram and the quencher of the thirst of the world.
And the void stirred, cracked and moaned with the noises of
their struggles great shapes came into being and dissipated
around them, and hate welled up in Chiram, for he was the
first born and conceived it his right to rule. But a
redundancy was about their struggles, for time had not paid
yet any heed to them for they were lesser of him and he
preceded them all.
Then Samaa moved towards time and pleaded with him to set
himself on all things and through all things, for they were
brothers, and in the beginning, with Samaa came time, and
without him there was none. And time was pleased for he grew
tired of aimless wandering. In that time spread itself and
engulfed and entwined the void and all therein.
And the quarrel of Chiram and Hafas took on new force and
ferociousness,
Great parts of the inner void were torn and destroyed by
these wars and Samaa grew tiresome of observing the
quarreling brethren and rebuilding their destruction. And he
rose from the void and his eyes gazed at both. And they,
feeling the eyes of their master upon them, ceased their
onslaught and trembled before his gaze. But all while,
whisps of light and un-light lashed out between them. For
thus was their nature and they could not contain it.
Then Samaa spoke for the first since his creation, and his
voice shook the void. And his words were 'This I would not
have, that my first born would destroy all that is.
Therefore, you shall have space for conflict and there you
shall quarrel and be to the content of myself and your
own.'
Thus was Baar created; a plaque of space confined by void
and time, so that neither darkness, light or un-light could
pass. Much similar to the void was it, vast and unmeasurable
the size of the plain was, and it was a void of its kind,
the absence of matter and yet a being unto its own.
And to it were confined Chiram and Hafas to quarrel as they
may.

Of the coming of the Simir
The clamor of quarrel between Hafas and Chiram was heard
throughout existence, and the might of the voice of Samaa
was heard there too. Thus, attention was given to the
passings in Baar. And forces came forth, to dwell there from
without the void. These were called the Simir, and were
many. Their will was to shape Baar and rule it as theirs.
For that they willed peace and certainty and thought to
align themselves to Chiram for he was the first-born of the
brethren, and in their eyes the strongest. Within them
united, was power to tilt the struggle and in their eyes to
create a certainty. All Simir gathered and concluded that
they would approach Chiram. But few were doubtful, most of
all the one called Issa who desired peace and life most of
all, and loved the light of being. But his will was
over-ruled by their council.
Therefore, Salar, who was later known as the dark flame, and
Sira of the cold approached the un-light of Chiram and
speaking on behalf of all the Simir, suggested their aid.
Chiram was surprised at this, since in his war with his
brother, he had let his fury burn so bright that he was
blind to all things that passed, and was surprised at the
appearance of other beings, therefore he tarried with his
answer.
But Hafas saw his peril, being of light that looks without
and noticing the entrance of the Simir into Baar. So he
approached the Simir while Salar and Sira were away and
while speaking softly to them, he moved their hearts. In
this he was aided by Issa who then shunned the un-light of
Chiram. Now Issa vowed openly allegiance to Hafas and to
follow him to all ends. With those words Issa shone as
bright as his master. Then the Simir where struck with awe
and since the love of light was in them they removed
themselves from the gathering and followed Hafas and Issa.
Upon the return of Salar and Sira to the gathering of the
Simir they found that their kin had left and understood
their betrayal. Fury of it burned in them and they vowed
never to meet again with their kin in friendship. So
returned Salar and Sira to Chiram to beg for mercy, for the
rage of their betrayal was in them.
So passed the Simir from un-light into light. But not all
swayed, Salar and Sira remained at the side of Chiram, and
his un-light filled them with wrath and fire, and a longing
to rule or destroy all things, as his lieutenants they grew
strong and fearsome, the worse of all Simir. Laden with
terrible power and potency they were, and where ever they
went a shroud of darkness ever engulfed them so that none
could recognize them but their master and Samaa.
With that the quarreling ceased for a while. And each side
withdrew to build his forces in relative silence and there
was calm for a few ages hence.

Of the first battle of light and the making of the
plains

It came to pass that while each side withdrew to its own
that Issa and Salar met in the middle of Baar and exchanged
words, for they were close in bonds of friendship before the
parting and Salar was with hope to sway the other to his
side. But Issa had known better, and all he hoped for was to
confine further conflict to a small part of Baar, for he
loved Baar and did not want much harm to come of it.
And as they spoke, great torrents of forces moved around
them and each took a form of great stature Issa for good and
Salar for ill.
But Salar had turned to darkness, and he was not his former
self. And Issa remained adamant for he would not leave his
master and break his oath.
So Salar mocked Issa for his blind following of his master
and took on a form of hideous appearance, for he became a
beast wreathed in flame, always burning, always feeding on
itself and its surroundings. Around him were whisps of flame
and those lashed out and hit Issa, but Issa did not falter.
And Issa assumed a form of a large orb of crystal, polished
and it was shining with a bright light from within. Salar
observed this and with it he thought was the defeat of Issa,
for Issa was great in light and size but his form, in all
it's hideousness, was greater. So Salar took the orb and
inserted it into himself and engulfed it. By doing this he
aspired to achieve to become even greater, by feeding his
flames on the light of Issa, and so it was in the beginning.
But Issa had foreseen this, and had known the consequences.
The light of Issa shone brightly within Salar, and it
seared his being, so he imposed even more flame within him
unto Issa, and Baar moaned and cracked with the force of
their struggle. And the ferociousness of the struggle
steadily rose, until both Chiram and Hafas drew their
attention to it.  As this occurred, a great blast had
occurred and both Issa and Salar fell and in their fall
reached the bottom of Baar, and when it was reached they hit
it's borders with great force, and the noise of it rocked
all Baar and the void. There they lay, Issa on top of Salar,
and slowly parted from this world. But before his parting
Issa swore that from that time on all battles shall be
fought over Salar and himself, for they were mighty in the
size that they took, and that forever will the Simir tend to
their bodies. With that he bound the fate of all the Simir
to the mass of bodies of Salar and Himself.
There they both lay.
And Chiram and Hafas heard their cries and their oaths, and
so did all Simir. So came forth the Simir and wept for their
brethren. For both Issa and Salar were of great beauty
before their fall. And the tears fell on and around the
bodies of Salar and Issa, and wherever a tear fell, there
grew fair things. But Sira did not weep, and she hardened
her soul and darkened her being, for her mourning was turned
into wrath, and all light was shunned from her soul and she
withdrew into the darkness of her master.
And the Simir made to memorials of this battle, an orb
wreathed in flame, which was named Sala in memory of Salar,
and an orb of bright white light which was named Issur, in
memory of Issa. These they put above the bodies of Salar and
Issa, and were made to shine on the bodies of the brethren,
each in turn, for memory of the battle.
And the Simir descended upon the bodies, which had now grown
stiff, and remained there ever to tend them.
Each of the Simir took upon himself a different duty of
custodianship of the plains.
Shoran took upon himself to look after all the living
beasts. And Sogol, being of love with Issa, took it upon
herself to tend to all growing things that drew their life
from his body.  But on Salar no thing would grow and his
limbs formed the mountains of the north and the great Black
Mountains of the south on which nothing would grow but the
rest of the land was from Issa, and it flourished. Mella
became the guardian of the seas. For it was she that had
cried over the dead and it was her soul that poured into the
seas, and at times she was filled with wrath over the dying
of Salar and Issa, for she loved them well, and in that was
she unpredictable.
The rest of the Simir assumed no responsibilities at that
time, for they felt that more was to come. Thus they
wandered the land in silence, blessing it where they went,
and with the help of Mella, Shoran and Sogol the land
flourished.
Thus ended the first battle of light and the land, the seas
and the lights of day and night were formed and the land was
grown.
And Sira withdrew herself to the black mountains of the
south, and took her abode there, brooding and growing ever
greater in her dark powers.

Of the creation of the races.
And so it came to pass, that ages after the first battle of
light all Simir were gathered at the foot of the Black
mountains of the south for much evil was growing in there,
and beasts were roaming the lands of which evil had taken
charge of. And Sira had not been seen or heard of since the
battle. Much discussion was there and many voices heard and
it was clear that Sira had put her dark talents to work
twisting the living things to do her bidding.
But the Simir tarried and did not assault her at that time.
And evil was allowed yet to grow. Instead they decided to
put beings to act as guardians. But on the nature, shapes
and sizes there was much dissention.
For Sogol wished them to be as tall as trees, long and
agile, and undying so as to ever watch her beloved trees.
And Shoran desired them to be swift and strong, so they
could guide the beasts and aid him in his work. And Mella
desired the beings to be sturdy so they could stand the
tides of time and sea. Harsh words were spoken and there was
much dismay between all Simir. And they turned to Hafas for
guidance and Hafas replied: 'I shall make a being of light,
and he shall build a fire of creation, and you shall judge
him wisely.' And so was created the father of races, and he
was summoned to the gathering of the Simir and arrived
there.
And Moran, being termed as the wise among the Simir and
being tired of the quarreling between the Simir and
themselves, spoke to the father and ordered him that he
should build three fires to warm his heart. And the father
stepped forth one pace and froze in his position, for he was
torn inside himself on the method of building the fire and
the correct order and purpose of the fire.
So Moran spoke once more and questioned of the problem, and
the father spoke of his troubles. And Moran raised his voice
and ordered the father to brake apart and so each part of
his will will do as it pleases. So the father was divided
into three parts.
The first part had slowly gathered dead twigs that lay on
the ground and built his fire, and it burned constantly
bright and steady always he added twigs and guarded the
fire, so that it burned steadily.
The second gathered branches, and broke some off the trees
that were nearby and he built a fire that shone brightly and
contested the skies and filled even the Black Mountains with
light for a little while. But as suddenly as it grew, it had
died out.
The third, had raised his hands and had wrestled with a live
tree, and felled it, To the sorrow of Sogol, and ever to her
remembrance. And from it he shaped the wood, so that it
would burn bright and long, and he started a fire and it
burned but at the moment the wood was shaped properly in his
eyes, the fire had died.
But after the two fires had died, the three parts of the
father saw each other and joined each other and the steady
fire of the first was strengthened by the shaped wood of the
third, and the labors of the second.
And Moran saw all this and had composed his judgment
So was it decreed that the first part of the father shall be
Erellin, father of the Shallan, the first born, which were
to be called later elves. For his fire shone bright and was
constant till the end, and thus shall the lives of his
people be unending and their care for trees and al living
things shall be great. And their fires shall be theirs, but
in times of strife it was predicted that ever shall others
flock to their fires.
And the second shall be Charb  the race of war, which were
called later men. For they were swift to build, and their
fires shall last not long, but burn brightly.
And the last should be Chizaad  for they are the shapers,
and long life was bestowed to them, so that they should see
the ends of their own doings, and their work would end
before their deaths. And they shall live to see it rough and
short they were made with keen eyesight so as they could
work in the darkness before the light of their works.
Thus were created the three races as they were envisioned by
Shoran, Sogol and Mella.
And Samaa saw this and was pleased and he gave the duty of
tending to the spirits of the races to Moran for his wisdom,
and more he gave to him the power to see all ends. And the
power of final judgement of all matters of Simir.
