The blazing fire
The giant thongs of flame
The greatest desire
The sacred name
Are all buried deep bellow
Buried, but still alive
Buried under the tombstone of duty
Covered by the dust of day-by-day inertia
Within the silence of the night
Within the cover of the tender darkness
The ground is splitting
And phantoms of the past turn loose
Storms of hatred!
Storms of rage!
The burning ache of failure!
The searing pain of despair!
I want to give her flowers
To ask for her forgiveness
But I can't
She's farer than the kingdom of Death
Higher than the blossoming Garden of Eden
Unreachable... Unreachable...
On earth so close, but yet... Unreachable...
The painful memories won't go away
Every failure burnt in stone
On the covenants of my mind
The sun is rising
No time to be weak
Myself I am hiding
Suffering no man seeks
For in the path I must go now
No time to stop for tears
It's disallowed to be in turmoil
It's disallowed to be in grief
Only Death gives that permission
In this never ending race
There is no excuse for failure
Who errs he pays
For I shall bear the consequences
For all the sins and the mistakes
Thus said the judging angel
The incarnation of God's grace
And for the guilty there is punishment
And God will make sure that is met
Shadows of the past
Tones of concrete
Can't bury them
Run through life
To escape the bitter memories
Or confront her
And have redemption
Although I can't
Moment near the Tombstone of Past
Just a moment...
Because the current-past-inertia awaits... |
