To fall into a stream
Dripping wet into the rocks
Embedding themselves into your skin
Water once clear
Now runs red with dilluted blood
Passing along the moss
What to say to these things
Though life continues to change
Spread and exist
Lifeless, powerless, hungry
For the fortitude of companionship
Clinging to the surface of the river
Folding and plunging
Richoteing into the next pool
The liquid becomes your blood
Polluting the streams
Killing the life there
But there is nothing you can do
It drowns you as it gives life
Burns you as it cleanses
Frees you in entrapment
To look into the pool
The mirror looking back
The surface calm and serene
Until the blood
Mixes with tears
And you begin to cry |
