Beast

I am the strong and the brave.
I control the lion in my ring decisively, and you all adore
me.
Some call me cruel, for I am striking at my loved one with a
long whip.

Father

He watches all I ever do.
I want to be a good child to him more than anything else.
I rarely know what he wants, but my guesses lead my way.
Every decision I make is based on what I think he wants me
to do.

Gambling

She is there again.
I watch her closely, trying to get a sign.
Will she deal me a good hand at last?

Germs

I wash my hands every ten minutes.
I try to convince her to do the same, but she laughs at me.
She does not see the danger, all them enemies waiting for
our mistakes.
She is so innocent and trustworthy, and I fail to protect
us.

Hanging

I slipped a few times, but the last one was almost fatal.
I look down and all I see is thin air.
The only thing that is keeping me alive is her grasp,
And I cling to her with all the power I find in my heart.

In The City

I am driving around in the city, lost for so long.
There are so many lanes to chose from, I am confused.
Each lane has a sign over it, telling me where it leads,
If only I knew where I want to be.

Mirrors

I don't think she realizes that we are lost for so long.
We just returned to a place in the maze that we have already
been to so many times.
Or maybe we didn't? It all seems the same after a while.

My Tree

For many years I have grown vegetables in my garden.
It was easy, as they were seasonal and required little
work.
I have fed myself with many delicious tastes,
And could switch to new ones whenever I desired.

Pet

I used to be so lonely living here by myself,
But now I have a pet to keep me company.
It feels so good to fondle her, just to share the touch with
another being.
Now there are sounds between these walls, and I don't feel
so dead.

Prey

I am laying low, observing.
I can sense their presence.
There are so many around me, but I am invisible to them.
I try to understand where each is going, but there are not
many clues.
I will try to move forward now.
I crawl for a short while.

Quiz Show

She is asking me the first question.
The question seems meaningless to me, but I know it is
important.
There are only two options, but I am clueless.
I have no choice but to guess.

The Castle

Everyone finds a castle sometime.
The castle looks so strong, it seems nothing will make it
fall.
The foundations are deep; the walls are high,
And the space inside is large enough to contain all that one
can imagine.

The Contract

We had another meeting today.
The contract was not specific enough, and it had to be dealt
with.
The work is so hard, I often wonder if it is worth the pay,
as high as it is.
All are envy in me, as they can see only the rewards.

The Fly

My hunger is driving me crazy.
I am willing to do anything to satisfy it.
