The forest was dark
And crawling with sounds
Whispers in the shadows
That moved like they had life of their own
There they gathered,
The great lord appeared
With his giant horns
And shouted to the crowd of the unworthy
In the language of the damned
That the time has come.
They kept moving and whispering
Crawling in the dark.

None of them remembered the days
It seems that eons have passed
Since they were living men
It seems that a million years have passed
Since this forest was the most beautiful and blessed of them
all
None of them remembered the taste of joy
It was odd since it was only a few years ago.

The lord of death took out his reaper
So did all of them.
They know that this time
The dark is the darkest it has ever been.

The place that once was they are home is now just a shadow
just like them
they have changed in a blink of an eye
And now it's too late.

The damned knew it is over
And the lord said the last words
With a pearl of a tear in his eye:
'we have to end this
For we were once creatures of light
And now we are just shadows
Let us end this life
For this soul, out forest is forevermore
Dead.
