Johnny and Ben
and his aunty Fran
and their little
cousin Fry
All went on a ship
that was ten levels deep
And the rumour spread
It could fly
The Captain said
it would shake a little bit
and then soar
into the sky
Johnny and Ben
and his aunty Fran
and the little cousin
smiled
They went on to the ship

It had white feathered wings
and propellers and things
that blinked and that
flickered red lights
A coffee machine
and all sails painted pink
and a sunglasses stock
for the nights
All the new men aboard
were handed a sword
and goggles
to pot on their eyes
And one small family of mice
came to settle on board
into wall-holes
prepared for their size
They went on to the ship

That could fly!
Johnny smoked a cigar
asking the Captain, how far
the ship can get
in the matter of height?
And so the Captain went mad
and made the engines
spin faster...
At the speed of light!
A short scream was heard
as Ben and aunty Fran
were not quite ready
for the so sudden flight
And the bewildered little Fry
said, oh I never knew
the universe
had another side!
They went on through the sky
Went on through the solar system
Went on through the galaxy
At the speed of light!
Out there
the moon lit bright
and the weather was cold
so cold
Around them
twinkled the stars
zillion ages old
(So they were told)
Captain, said Ben
It's almost time for tea
and aunty must be
back home by then, no doubt...
Well it's a long way home,
the Captain replied
His telescope at hand
But on me be sure, you can count!

Ha, why is it
a tin can I'm spotting
with this telescope of mine?
-Oh lord!
It's my friend Major Tom
He's lost in space
since 1969!
-Bring him aboard!
Major Tom had a phone
The Captain handed it to Johnny
and said- dial!
He dialed
It reached ground control
but the line was busy
at the other side...
they all cried:

Near the darker half
of the moon
Flying
With the Captain as Captain
and the Major as Cook
(Something he always
wanted to try)

to the satellites
passing by...
