Black is black
And white is gray
I have to listen
To what they say

I care too much
But I don't care
I'm curious
What's over there

Some people are big
Some people are small
Some people I love
Some I don't know at all

We're all human beings
We're mammals, we're flesh
But some throw the stick
And some run and fetch

They all get mixed up
In my sore little eyes
The birds in the cage
And the free butterflies

Colors are nice
When combined the right way
But when it's all dark
It doesn't matter anyway

So if I can't see
I don't want to be involved
You don't even have to tell me
When the puzzle is solved

I'll return to my cave
And that's where I'll stay
And if I hear tempting noises
I might come out some day
