When the land had no king
While Days were long

There was a city made of gold
If only it you could behold
So listen as its tale is told

Its towers bright
It was a sight!
It glittered on through day and night
When suns were red and moons were white
It set a fire in the light.
Its castles: six, its sires: three;
And in its heart a golden tree
And count each wall
Thirteen in all

Oh, listen pray
There came a day
In the early lights of May
When a traveler lost his way
And met a danger on the quay
Suddenly the day turned gray
And the traveler then did sway
There a city set him astray
The golden city in the bay

For you must see
How cursed it be
The hearts of men the city stole
And in its walls it trapped their soul
Three, the sires watched their hoard
Of shattered lives the city stored
They wished for none but days of late
When they shall spread their endless hate
And set an end to love and bliss
When hell will rule and fires hiss

Then, came forth, mages wise
To open hearts and open eyes
The city cursed they hid with lore
Its vile luring came nevermore
Though foolish men went out to seek
The golden tree of which we speak
If it they found, that lies unknown
None know to which wind those men had gone
