there is a man, who's fate is clear
there is a ocean, you'll find him here
the waters are deep, and the salt seeks the wound
he struggles to breath , but knows he'll die soon
the waves are harsh, and seek to destroy
but the man has fought hard, ever since he was a boy
the birds in the sky, could seem mocking to some
for the man tries to swim, but he's already gone numb
when he opens his mouth, the sea finds it's way in
and he can't help but wonder ,when it's all going to end
cause it all seems so old, like a late late night show
and he knows he's going to die, but how, he couldn't know
sometimes it seems... so hard to breathe
sometimes though... it all seems to freeze
sometimes he thinks, there might be a chance
that somewhere out there ,is a ship's second glance
sometimes though, his fight seems to be
so futile in truth, against this great sea
that he thinks to him self, should i give myself up?
to stop the fight, and put a end to his luck
but tired as he may be ,he just can't stop his fight
futile as anything, but he still wants to see light
so one day he'll drown, or perhaps a ship will come
but no matter what happens, he'll always be numb
no peace will be with him, no comfort will cure
the struggle within him, uncertain but sure
though darkness surrounds ,surely light must follow
it's futile however, cause it will just leave him hollow.
