I don't dream as much as I'd like to
I don't dream that much about you
Any more.
Pushing the edge,
It seems fantastical from here,
You Never thought I could,
I never thought I should,
When I knew you.
We build these walls, you see
Only to , eventually, break down
Only to painfully, discover the truth
About ourselves,
Not each other.
I am in sleep,
And it is deep,
And  I thought I knew you,
And I thought you wanted to know me too,
Guess that wasn't so.
Its been hard to do,
To take those steps, inside me,
Towards a wall.
To make it break, to break me with it, too
To expect you'd be there ,
When I was done, and bleeding meanings of life
When I was done
And ready to pick-up where we'd left off.
Guess that wasn't so.
Too young to realize that people go,
And don't return
With open arms.
I forgave the hurt,
The words,
The nights I cried myself to sleep.
Always believed you
Would forgive me too.
Guess I was wrong
And happy endings are made for fools.
I have changed, rocked my world completely
And I guess I thought you'd want to know
Guess that isn't so.
